Oldman River

The Oldman river is diverse in its topography and fish populations. In the upper Oldman cutthroat and rainbow are scattered throught various pocket water. Walk-wading is prefered in the late summer months as the river levels secede. The lower Oldman tailwater is fast developing a blue ribbon reputation in southern Alberta. Its fish include rainbow, browns, whitefish, pike and even the occasional burbot. Its consistent temperature allow abundant insect life creating a large collection of trophy trout. It's floatable right through to the fall and this limits walk-wading access.
